We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Seasonal Sales Assistant to support our busy retail team during peak trading periods. This role involves assisting customers, supporting pond and aquatic sales, maintaining high store standards and working closely with Section Leaders to ensure excellent animal welfare and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Help customers choose suitable pond fish and aquatic livestock
• Provide accurate husbandry advice on pond set-up, filtration, water quality, feeding and fish compatibility
• Safely catch and bag pond fish using correct handling techniques
• Ensure high standards of animal welfare at all times
• Monitor livestock for signs of illness or stress and report concerns to a Section Leader
• Assist with feeding routines and basic livestock care where required
• Replenish shelves and maintain attractive, well-stocked displays
• Check pricing and labelling is accurate and clear
• Assist with deliveries, unpacking and rotating stock correctly
• Maintain clean, safe and organised retail areas
• Support Section Leaders with daily operational tasks
• Work efficiently as part of the wider store team

Skills & Experience Required

• Genuine interest in fishkeeping, ponds or general pet care
• Confident and friendly communication skills
• Willingness to learn about aquatic livestock and husbandry practices
• Comfortable handling live fish
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to working hours
• Physically capable of lifting and moving stock safely
